Along The Ecliptic
The Sun, Venus, Moon, and Jupiter (l to r) seem to all rise from the same spot on the horizon in this 7 hour time lapse photo taken on the morning of January 27,1995 near the Fire Island Lighthouse, N.Y. (with exposures taken every 6 minutes). This photo won me a $2,200 Canon 20Da astrophotography camera in an “Astronomy Magazine” photo contest and was also featured on NASA’s Astronomy Picture of the Day, May 3, 2005.
