Impending Glory

I saw some big, beautiful, billowy clouds slowly rising from behind the cross on “Cross Mountain” so I took out my filters and tried a few trick shots. This was taken through a red, then green, then blue filter. I love this picture immensely. The devil didn’t like me taking this, though. Only minutes later did a soft drizzle start to fall. I quickly packed up my photography gear and huddled under a small tree with my windbreaker over my head. I didn’t even think of bringing an umbrella. The drizzle became a steadier rain, then an all out deluge. After waiting about half an hour under this tree, with water now dripping fiercely down my back, I said the heck with it and started climbing down this big mountain, rain or no rain. Many others who had been trapped also did the same. About halfway down it mercifully stopped raining. On another note: I have no idea (even to this day) why they only bothered painting white the cross halfway up. It bugged me then and still does!
