I did some serious astrophotography in Ft. Davis, Texas (“The darkest spot in North America”) in May, 2006. I stayed at the Double M Ranch, which is on 1500 working acres. I was the only one there besides the owners. A true astrophotographer’s paradise! This is a composite shot of the Milky Way (about 3 minutes at ASA 1600 with a Canon 20Da camera) and a dirt road on the ranch. I reworked this photo after seeing a chance picture I took at the end of a long night of photography.
